Martin MAC 2000 Wash
Martin MAC 2000 Wash 1200 W Philips MSR Gold discharge lamp Extremely high light output up to 33,000 lumens Even CMY color mixing Variable CTC 2 additional color wheels with replaceable filters Flexibility of lens options Fresnel, PC and Super-wide Motorized zoom Exclusively with electronic ballast reduced weight of 34 kg Switch mode power supply Optional motorized barn door module available The goal was to produce a fixture consistent with the look and quality of the existing MAC 2000s and to create a large scale washlight capable of long throw projection. We believe that this goal has been achieved with a fixture that is the brightest Martin Professional has ever produced. Lamp: The MAC 2000 Wash uses a 1200 Watt lamp at its source and features a brand new reflector, specially designed for this high powered washlight. Color Options: The MAC 2000 Wash features full CMY color mixing along with variable color temperature correction filters. All of these variable filters work under the same principle as the previous MAC 2000 products, but they do feature a new etching design to ensure smooth and even color mixing across the entire beam. In addition two color wheels each fitted with four color filters, plus open, are fitted. The second wheel has the option to be swapped for a number of other color options that will be available for the fixture in the future. Motorized Zoom system: The zoom works in conjunction with the three different front lens options currently available to provide different spread angles. The zoom angles are: Fresnel Lens: 11 15 40 degrees PC Lens: 12 34 degrees Super Wide Lens: 66 70 - 80 degrees In addition we have added one very special feature to the zoom system, which now allows you to remove the zoom lens entirely from the beam to give a fixed, but extremely powerful beam. This function is automated and controlled completely by DMX. The power output and beam angles in this hyper mode are as follows: Fresnel Lens: 11 degrees @ 31, 500 lumens PC Lens: 12 degrees @ 33, 125 lumens Super Wide Lens: 70 degrees. With such a wide spread, it is more complicated to get an accurate lumen count. However, this lens provides a beautifully wide and even field beam with extremely even color mixing. Front Lens options: In order to make the MAC 2000 Wash as flexible as possible, we have used an optical system that works with three interchangeable front lenses. The fixture comes fitted with a Fresnel lens as standard. The Fresnel lens is most commonly used in theatre or television applications where a soft edged pool of light is required. A PC lens also comes supplied with the fixture for further flexibility. The PC lens gives a much tighter light beam with a slightly harder, more defined edge, than the Fresnel lens. As the beam is tighter, there is more light output. This lens is more often used for long throw applications such as at large exhibitions or corporate events. The PC lens has also become popular in the concert touring industry. As a further option, there is also a super wide angle lens available, which gives a very wide zoom range. This lens is perfect for flat and even projection over short distances. It is extremely suited for lighting cycloramas in theatres or television studios or for lighting backdrops at concerts and corporate events. The output and color mixing from this lens is extremely flat and even, and is very impressive. Optional Motorized Barn Door System: One of the most exciting developments for the MAC 2000 Wash will be the release of an optional motorized barndoor module by September 2002. A barndoor mechanism consists of four plates which fit onto the front of the fixture and allow you to cut the beam wherever desired. For instance in theatres, it is usual to cut the light so that it does not hit the audience. Barndoors are commonplace on almost all generic washlight fixtures in theatres, television studios, and concerts.
