StageSpot would like to take a moment to congratulate Fred Allen on his retirement from Field Template. After 26 years of hard work building the brand, packing the templates and keeping track of dotting the “I”s and crossing the “T”s, Fred is off on a new adventure.
The Field Template we have all come to need and love started as a simple solution to Fred’s least favorite part of design, drafting. Fred partnered with Steve Shelley and their hard work has paid off with the gold standard in lighting design templates. As drafting techniques evolved, so has Field Template, offering SoftSymbols the most complete and accurate library of lighting symbols.
Steve will continue designing and selling the hard copy Field Templates as well as upgrades to the SoftSymbols, while Fred will continue his work with custom templates. We would also like to send a hardy “Good Luck” to Steve on his new journey into single parenthood.
