Do not store fluid outside, in a shed, or in a non climate controlled space. If your fog fluid is open, it can last up to six months in ideal conditions. Things you shouldn’t do with your fog juice: Take it to the beach and leave it in the trunk, the fluid will spoil much more quickly than if you have left it back at the theater. What’s the big deal about old fog fluid anyway, we can still use it right?Old fluid could cause build up in the heater and be a bit smelly. Fog fluid getting older will appear darker and soon after that it will turn a blueish green hue. Don't use it and dispose of it properly. Using it can harm your fog machine and make your space smell a bit. No one likes a smelly performance space. Trust us on that one.So when I get new fog or haze fluid, I can just add it to whatever is in my machine, right? No. Please don’t do that.  Best thing to do it run the old juice completely out of the fog machine. Make sure to run out your fluid at the end of your season as well.  Leaving fluid in the machine is the fastest way to degrade the parts in your fogger. Running out the fluid is great for ventilation checks or impromptu fog parties, then fill with new fluid or store until next season.fogPhoto by Waegnoi CC by 2.0So this fog fluid is on sale, it will work in my machine, right?Working, and working well are two very different concepts. Use the proper fluid for your machine, be it a high end machine or a compact budget model, you will get the best possible performance out of the fog machine. Using an off brand fluid could cause damage and lead to expensive repairs or replacement in the future.  .  Most of the time this will also void any warranty you might have on your machine.StageSpot hopes these simple fog facts and tips have helped.
