Go Pink for the Cure

Go Pink for the Cure
GoPink

October is nearly here.  With awareness campaigns throughout the year, October’s efforts to Go Pink for the Cure are on a lot of minds. Our customers have already been asking StageSpot for it’s input on the best awareness colors of gel and tape.  Last year we focused on lighting up the outside of buildings. This year, we’d like to focus on some indoor lighting and decoration options.

Tape is one of the easiest ways to bring color into a space. We’ve seen creative window displays, cubical decorations, and office tape wars. StageSpot only carries one color of pink in gaffer’s tape, and it’s an eye catching florescent pink. It’s available in ½”, 1”. 2”, and 3” widths in single roll and case quantities. It’s also available by the case in 4” widths. If you dress your copier in pink, please send us a photo to help you show off your skills.

Lighting Gel is another great option for decorating during the Go Pink for the Cure campaign. Pink gel for lighting can be a bit trickier to recommend, as it’s not found in every light output available. We recommend starting now to find the best pink for your purpose. There are a number of factors that influence what “the right pink” is, including: the hue of pink you desire, the spectral output of the light fixtures and whether or not the gel can survive as long as needed when installed on the light source.

If you plan to use the gel in crafts, and not lighting, there are numerous ways to use all different shades of pink. Window or mirror clings are fun. Cutting out ribbon shapes and adding them to hallway windows can add an extra pink to your passionately pink decoration area. We also keep toying with the idea of using scraps to make mobiles to hang from our ceiling. Some of our favorite crafty pink gel colors are Roscolux #342 Rose Pink (for dramatic pink effects), #36 Medium Pink (for the most conventional pink around), Apollo #8450 Spanked Pink (nice general pink), and Apollo #8530 Pink Pong (slightly deeper general pink). All gel colors can be found at StageSpot.

Other ideas include a raffle with prizes including field templates, tape, tie line, or even ultimate tools. Proceeds to benefit your favorite breast cancer charity. That is certainly a raffle we’d save our pennies for.

Our best tips are to buy a swatch book and experiment, especially at night for outdoor displays, to find what suits your design best. Once you’re happy with the results, please don’t hesitate to share on our facebook page. We’d love to see how you Go Pink for the Cure.
