Visual Productions CUETY LPU-2 Overview

Lighting designers looking for a simple, low cost lighting control solution will be impressed with the Visual Productions Cuety, an intuitive software controller app for iOS and Android tablets that incorporates a wide range of exciting features and includes a dedicated DMX interface well suited for light jockeys, DJs, free-lance technicians, rental companies, and touring bands. Cuety turns your tablet into a powerful lighting console, enabling you to take advantage of the mobility and multi-touch display. The controller has full support for moving heads, LEDs, conventional lighting, and DMX controlled special effects. The software utilizes several control protocols including DMX512, Art-Net, and sACN. Additionally, the program can run on a computer running macOS, Windows, and Ubuntu Linux. The LPU-2 hardware device takes care of all the calculations of DMX levels, cue timing, and FX engine. All the information about the patch and cues are stored in the device, ensuring operation, even in the event of a Wi-Fi failure. Additionally, the LPU-2 supports OSC, TCP, UDP, and HTTP protocols, making it very suitable to be integrated in permanent external systems. the LPU-2 web interface is read-only, which is useful for checking the devices status or monitoring incoming and outgoing network messages. The web interface does not allow for modifying the LPU-2.

Architecture

The system architecture of the Cuety and LPU is designed for robustness. The powerful LPU contains the engine that runs your show, calculates fade times, and renders dynamic FXs. The Cuety app is your user-interface. In the case of a Wi-Fi interruption, your show will go on.

Cuelist

Cuety adapts a cuelist based system that is the standard in the professional lighting industry. You will be programming your lights according to the same workflow that top LDs use for stadium-size events. Cuety just simplifies it to give you an easy start.

FX

A powerful inbuilt FX generator provides you with automatic movements for pan & tilt, various intensity chases and colorful RGB effects. The FX generator can be tweaked by changing its parameters such as speed, size, and phase-shifting.

4500+ Personality Files

Cuety comes with an impressive fixture library of over 4500 different DMX-512 fixtures. Most of the fixtures even have multiple operating modes. You can easily request new personality files via our online technical support forum.

Remote

Cuety Remote is a phone app that enables you to remote control the Cuety LPU by triggering the playback buttons. It does not allow you to edit the lighting cues.

LPU-2

The LPU-2 has support for OSC, TCP, UDP, and HTTP protocols, making it suitable to be integrated in permanent systems.
